11-25_KennedyHappy Birthday to John F. Kennedy Jr. (born Nov. 25, 1960), son of President John F. Kennedy.
(That’s right, the image seared on our hearts of John-John saluting his father’s coffin is of a boy turning three years old — the funeral for President Kennedy was held on Nov. 25, 1963, John Jr.’s third birthday.)
To remember him today, Paws 4 Abigail has selected a quote from John Jr. for our daily Dog Quote.  Here he recalls a certain gift from Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev.
“We had a dog who was named Pushinka, who was given to my father by a Soviet official. And we trained that dog to slide down the slide we had in the back of the White House.  Sliding him down that slide is probably my first memory.”
